In this article, we hope to give you some neat tips and tricks on how YOU can create your own event and challenges!
1. Figuring out the objective/theme!
The first step to any event is figuring out what it's about and what sort of event/challenge it is!
Things to consider are:
Is it based off of anything? (Example: Seasonal, a Holiday, Celebrating a milestone)
Is it a challenge? (Example: Prompt lists, Color theme, Draw this in your style)
Is it collaborative? (Example: Working with others, creating a collab world or RP)
2. How long will it run for?
Not all events/collabs need a deadline to participate! But some do! Things such as:
Raffles/Giveaways
Contests
Events with prizes
And limited time events
Will definitely need a deadline. This isn’t a definitive list, so use your best judgement!
Making it clear how long your event will run for lets participants know how much time they have to enter the event! By adding a deadline you can also help participants manage their time to ensure they give themselves time to enter.
A good rule of thumb is that the larger an event is, the more time you should give. Most events can run from a couple of weeks to a month, but go with your best judgement on how long you think your event should run for! You can always add more time if your participants need it.
3. Creating an Event title/name!
Now that you have the idea and plans for how long your event will run for, it needs a name! Picking names for events can be tricky, but here are a few good tips when thinking of names for events:
Keep it related to the event
Make it stand out
Try to keep it as short as possible
4. Creating a hashtag!
Now that you have your title/name, you should probably make a hashtag! Making a hashtag for your event is a great way to not only track the entries, but can really spruce up the event and make it fun. You want your hashtag to be related to your event, even if it's just the exact wording of the event title!
For example if your event is titled "Phoenix's 1,000 Follower Art Contest" here are some potential hashtags you could try to use for it
#Phoenix1kContest
#P1kArtContest
#NixArtContest
5. Making an Announcement post!
It's time for one of the best parts of making an event: announcing it!
This can be done in several ways, but one of the most simple ways to do so on Unvale is by creating a World or Post with all the information people need to join in.
This should include:
What the title is
When the event deadline is
The rules of your event
This can include: how to enter, where to ask questions, what isn't allowed in your event
What the dedicated hashtag is for your event
A relevant cover image
Drawing or editing your own cover image for your event will help it stand out!
Try to be as detailed as possible so that the event is easy to understand and join!
