Community Guidelines

Learn more about community standards on Unvale!

Here at Unvale, we're open to many different creators from many different walks of life. We want to be a space that is open to many individuals and to ensure all users' comfort, we have these guidelines.

Listed below is a simple overview of what isn't allowed on our platform and shouldn't be shown in our community.

Hate Speech and Hateful Conduct

We do not permit targeted hate or hate speech towards OCs and/or Creators. Hate speech includes language or depictions of negativity against individuals or groups of people.

These can be based on any, but not limited to

  • Age

  • Caste

  • Disability

  • Ethnicity

  • Gender identity and expression

  • Immigration status

  • Nationality

  • Race

  • Religion

  • Sex/gender

  • Sexual orientation

  • Victims of a major violent event and their kin,

  • Veteran status

  • Etc.

Unvale is open to people from many different walks of life, and we are proud of the diversity in our community! While we understand that sometimes you may not agree with certain people's beliefs or ways of identifying, we ask that if you have nothing respectful to say to please keep it to yourself in order to avoid any sort of hostility or discomfort on our platform.

Inappropriate Usernames

We do not allow the use of usernames that go against our Community or Creation guidelines. If found with a username that is a breach of our guidelines, you will be warned with one week to move your content to a new account before the original offending account is removed from the platform.

Inappropriate usernames would include

  • Using Culturally Sensitive words/slurs

  • Targeted Harassment

    • This means anything that could be read as if it is pointed at a specific person or peoples.

  • NSFW content

Usernames with slight cursing are not considered inappropriate at this time and will be permitted on the platform.

Harassment

We do not allow the promotion or engagement of any sort of harassment both on the Unvale platform and our Discord.

This includes, but is not limited to

  • Callout posts/vagueposting about another user

  • Public Blacklists

  • Threats

  • Spamming messages/notifications

  • Bullying

  • Mocking

  • Personal attacks towards community members or team members

    • Note that we understand that some people may have a bad moment here and there, but persistent attacks towards others is not acceptable.

  • Impersonation of others and their likeness

    • This does not include satire accounts or roleplay accounts.

  • Sexual harassment

  • Coordinated attacks/reports

  • Suggesting or implying harm to another individual or group of people

  • Rage-baiting

  • Accounts made purely to “troll” or spread hurtful messages to or about other users

  • Ban evasion

If you are being harassed or see any harassment do not engage. Instead, please report it or contact us about it ASAP!

Soliciting

Soliciting is trying to obtain/request something from someone that they were not already seeking to give.

  • Soliciting is permitted only if stated explicitly in a user's bio.

  • If you’re trying to advertise a contest or similar - make a post about it!

This includes, but is not limited to

  • Requesting for free art

    • If a user has already consented to giving away/being asked for free art, this rule does not apply.

    • If a user has not, asking on their profile or creations is a breach of this rule.

  • Sharing contest/challenge/event/community/collab world links

    • You are allowed to promote, but please do not spam! Spread them out over time.

    • It is prohibited to promote these events on other people's profiles, instead make use of the tagging feature.

Spam Follow Accounts

At this time we do not allow the creation of accounts solely to follow people on Unvale.

This applies to accounts that simply want to "follow everyone", you are more than welcome (and encouraged) to follow as many people as you wish on Unvale - just refrain from making an account purely to do this.

  • Current accounts with this gimmick that refuse to unfollow users who have asked them to do so will be taken down by staff.

Not Safe for Work (NSFW) Content

We do not allow the promotion or engagement of sexual themes on Unvale. As we're a space that consists of many people of varying ages, Unvale does not currently allow or engage in the use of NSFW behaviors on our platform.

This includes and is not limited to

  • Roleplaying

  • Themes in art

  • Themes in writing

  • Implied sexual/suggestive wording

  • Implied sexual/suggestive jokes/memes

If you are under the age of 18, please do not engage in sexual behavior or any behavior that puts your safety (both online and physically!) at risk.

Posting Gore/Horror Content

While some horror is allowed on Unvale, it must be done in a way that still follows our Creation Guidelines. This is largely due to the shock factor that gore/horror brings to many.

If you are having difficulty figuring out if a piece you've made, both art and/or writing, is a fit for Unvale contact us !

Sensitive Information

We do not allow the disclosure of another user's, or your own, personal, real-life identifying information. This would be considered doxing and is extremely harmful to oneself and others.

This can include, but is not limited to

  • IP information

  • Email

    • This does not include those putting up their email for commissions/professional matters.

  • IDs/Passports

  • Photos of real people in your day to day life

  • Selfies/Photos of yourself

    • This does not include cosplays!

    • Blurring out/cropping/censoring faces still counts as a selfie/photo of yourself which we do not allow.

  • Text messages/DMs

  • Personal Relationship information

    • While you are free to speak with your partners and even mention who you are dating, do not share any fights/disputes on Unvale.

  • School Information

    • Name of school

    • School location

    • IRL location

  • Links to unknown/unidentified Discords or other chat apps.

    • All links leading outside of Unvale must follow this guideline.

Acts of Romantic Involvement

Unvale is a safe space for making connections, chatting, and collaborating together! However, we do not allow the use of Unvale to pursue real-world romantic relationships.

This can include, but is not limited to

  • Soliciting romantic relationships with other users on Unvale.

  • Engaging in unwanted flirtatious behavior.

  • Engaging in behavior that depicts or implies sexual behavior with another user on Unvale.

This does NOT include

  • Instances of roleplay between OCs.

  • Engaging with someone you already had a prior established relationship with off of Unvale.

  • Engaging with someone you originally met on Unvale and became involved outside of Unvale.

Speech related to Serious Mental/Physical Health Safety

While Unvale is a welcoming community to all, we unfortunately are not the platform to speak on mental health issues that require professional assistance.

Discussions of the following are not permitted on Unvale at all

  • Self Harm

  • Suicide

  • Abuse

If in need of assistance we strongly recommend reaching out to the Crisis Text Line or National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

Vent Posts on Unvale are permitted when speaking about stressors related to your original creations (art block, OCs, creative tools, etc). We do not allow venting posts about non-creative activities or general life stressors.

Examples of non-creative activities/stressors

  • Annoying day at school/work

  • Frustrations about other users (this is considered a call-out post which would be labeled harassment) or IRL people

  • Mental health issues

  • Heavy personal issues including family or other close loved ones

We want to create an environment that's safe and welcoming for everyone and it starts with how we engage with each other. We believe in open-mindedness and being willing to learn and accept others as they are!

Note: Venting about other subjects (except self-harm, suicide or abuse) is fine in non-public spaces such as:

  • Community-only posts

  • Comments (with explicit permission)

Posting of Political Figures and Political Statements

Unvale does not allow or endorse the posting of political figures or statements on our platform.

Any posting of real life political figures, mentions of harmful historic events, and others subjects relating to it will be removed from our platform.

This does not include the posting of fictional/made-up political figures for your original stories! We understand that some people may create characters based on countries, but this must be done respectfully! Any language that goes against our Community Guidelines will be removed immediately.

If you witness or ever have any issues with someone on the Unvale platform please reach out to us immediately.

Please note that these guidelines can be changed/updated to best suit our community's needs.
